Here's one you don't see completed very often. This is the Siga kit, a short lived line of mostly postwar naval aircraft from Ukraine. Definitely on the lower end of the short-run scale, with slablike pieces and an appetite for filler. The surface detail is nice and petite, though, which makes up for some of the construction challenges. Siga decals can be a trial - my FJ-1 Fury almost ended up with generic spares box markings as a result - but most of these went on with minimal trouble. The canopy is injected, which also makes me willing to forgive a lot.

If it concerns you, I should note that Siga makes no attempt to show the Mauler's distinctive comb flaps. Not sure how the Czechmaster Resin kit handled that.

The Mauler is probably the least-known naval aircraft that actually made it into active service (6 squadrons no less). It eventually was supplanted by the Skyraider, which it rather resembles.

This is completed model #408 (#33 for the year), finished in June of 2012. More details on the 72 Land blog, referenced below.

To post an image of your models, you will first need to find somewhere to host your photos on the Internet. Your ISP will often give you a limited amount of free web storage, and other online photo storage is also available.

To post a link or an image, simply type in the URL (web address) of the destination page or image. The URL will appear as a link (for an HTML link) or an image (if you link direct to a .jpg file) when posted. You can use the Preview facility to see how your message looks before posting to Plastic Pix.

Please try to keep image sizes to 800 pixels wide or less, as larger sizes will be too big to fit on many computer screens. Also, file sizes should be kept to around 100kb or less, otherwise download may be very slow.
