the bolt could have caused it to slip yes u do need a puller for the hub its on a tapperd shaft with a woodruf key holding it in place. id pull it out just to make sure everything is fine in there hate to put the bolt back on and have shit still fucked up in there did mine on my 88 fxr twice learned the hard way.
