...I don't follow the new Harley tech stuff but most kill switches on older Harleys (like before Y2K) operate by opening/closing the 12V+ circuit to the ignition. So you can't just cut it and leave the wires unattended. However, you could simplify that circuit by just making a kill switch with a wire coming off the points side of your coil and allow the switch to ground out when flipped. If you do this, then you need to permanently connect (i.e. solder) the two kill switch wires going to your present kill switch.

As far as hiding your splices, how 'bout hiding the wires inside the headlight bucket?
