I think you mean relay. The solenoid
mounts to the primary. I use one of those
small square 3 pin relays and never had any
problems. I think those big auto relays are
a bit of overkill. Also I had a tired old
Prestolite starter that cranked slow, switched
to Hitachi and much better. Also I've had lotsa
problems with flooded acid batteries. AGM baby !!!
