There is a difference between a solid lifter cam and a hydro cam. On a Hydro cam there is a valley machined into the lift ramp of the cam to let the hydro lifter get another bit of oil before going on and lifting the valve. When this type of cam is used with solids the solid lifter skips over this valley greatly increasing wear and tear. Something many overlook when putting solids in a stock eng.
