That is what I did on my 66 and 67 FLH's. They both had the bearing I mentioned originaly. The reason they are often a loose fit is often due to the bearing spinning with the main-shaft,after the bearing starts to fail. The man wanted to know what the factory used, I can only assume that someone updated yours before you got it.1970 was when the factory went with a separate seal setup, and many retrofitted them to their earlier bikes.
