I have had a messy engine oil leak in the sprocket area on my Shovel for years. Finally spent a little time and two bottles of brake clean just cleaning the area, and took a little ride to check it out.
Low and behold, it is clear to see that there is a crack in the bottom of the oil tank. I'll pull it off and pressurize it with about 3 psi and see if I can find it with some soap. It looks like it is where the bracket is welded to the bottom. Never crossed my mind to pressure test it when I made the modifications to it, duh.
I raised the tank up as far as possible to make room for foot clutch arm.
Oh well. Guess I'll pull 'er offa there and pressure test it again. Coulda been worse, if I woulda pulled the inner primary for nothin'.
