The Beaufighter is well enough known, but maybe not the Turbinlite Havocs and Bostons. The Turbinlite was a searchlight in the nose. Idea was the Havoc was vectored towards the enemy, completed the intercept with its own radar, illuminated the target with the light then the formating Hurricane finished the job. The white wing bars were lit with a faint blue light to help the Hurricane see the Havoc.
