The turnbuckles are a commercially available product from "bob's buckles"

These are fine wire turnbuckles which you thread your rigging material of choice though. All you need to do is drill holes to take the buckles and superglue them in. It means no drilling right through wings to thread rigging material which is a real bonus.

Truth be told, I could make these myself, but for multi bay biplanes, there are way too many for me to make without wanting to jump of something high, so I take the lazy option and buy em This particular model has a combination of the 1/72 and 1/48 buckles.
