I'm working on it too (being in painting stage) and am surprised that you had fit issues with lower nose.
I had the major fit issue with landing flaps area as I glued them close (as it should be and you did that too, I guess?), a LOT of filling and sanding. Upper cowling and upper wing to fuselage joints required quite some filler too. I'm also surprised you found necessary to correct upper cowling intakes as they seem pretty accurate, as a whole kit by the way, so far the best representation of early Mig-3. Unfortunatelly control surfaces and "rivets" are heavily overdone and detail (pretty nice oob) vastly incorrect.
I have strong doubt about black paint on the nose, picture of a real thing indicates more shade than paint. Anyhow it looks cool.
