This is for my 1/32 P-38G #42-13544 based at Amchitka, AK in spring 1943, based on the terrific Trumpeter P-38L kit. The actual aircraft is at the bottom of the ocean after being shot up while attacking G4M Bettys near Attu.

This is a quick conversion of the Trumpeter late type P-38L cockpit to a P-38G cockpit - not much will be visible as the canopy will be closed - scratchbuilt early type control column wheel with brass wire and CA glue, added strut running from armour plate above rear area, added lead wire cables to radios, added handles to the side window roll down cranks. The throttles are set to wide open as this model will be posed in flight. The radios are the kit ones, that are somewhat different from the actual radios on a P-38G, probably (this aircraft was among the last P-38Gs built and has some features of later model aircraft). The instrument dials will be filled with Future later. The seat is empty to accommodate a pilot figure representing John Geddes in his flight parka. Geddes was rescued by a OS2U Kingfisher immediately after ditching.
