This is the ancient 1/48 Monogram kit of B-17 G Flying Fortress. Brushpainted all over again. I had a lot of fun building this enormous beast.

the Magic Brush strikes again.

I expecially like the dull-ish shade of the bare metal. Which paint? The yellow also went out smooth, and that's difficult. Using a brush, how did you achieve such good exhaust stains on the wings?

Hello Massimo

Silver paint is Humbrol enamel number 11 and I made the exhaust stains by using black chalk powder (dry brushed).

on how you do such great brushpainting! Your brush painting is better than my airbrush work (a constant source of frustration...)

Hello Karl...

My opinnion is that airbrush is not some kind of wonderfull short cut to happiness. I´ve been training brushpainting for about 45 years, so maybe that explains something?

Tricks of my trade, man, tricks of my trade...
