Early type Mig3
This is the Trumpeter Mig3 in 1/48. I really struggled with the lower nose and wing root intakes and there's lots of Milliput used to reshape the nose profile. In fairness its probably my fault and not the kits.
I also greatly reduced the size and shape of the intakes on the top of the cowling as these seemed much too large.
Also the gun sight just fell off and is rattling around inside the fuselage - Ho, hum...!
Any comments welcome.

I have one of these on the back burner, having finished most of the work on an upgraded interior. You mentioned putty and reshaping of the nose; are there some shape issues there, or is it more of getting a good fit of the parts? If it has to do with shapes in particular, I would like to know more.
No - I'm sure it was just me.
I test fitted the parts early on in the build and all seemed well - I made the mistake of not testing further and for some reason when it came to glueing the parts it had all gone a bit out of alignment. Milliput to the rescue (yet again)
I'm working on it too (being in painting stage) and am surprised that you had fit issues with lower nose.
I had the major fit issue with landing flaps area as I glued them close (as it should be and you did that too, I guess?), a LOT of filling and sanding. Upper cowling and upper wing to fuselage joints required quite some filler too. I'm also surprised you found necessary to correct upper cowling intakes as they seem pretty accurate, as a whole kit by the way, so far the best representation of early Mig-3. Unfortunatelly control surfaces and "rivets" are heavily overdone and detail (pretty nice oob) vastly incorrect.
I have strong doubt about black paint on the nose, picture of a real thing indicates more shade than paint. Anyhow it looks cool.
