This is the 1/144 Minicraft B314 WIP. The finish is Floquil Old Silver allowed to dry for four days and then Testors Gloss which I let dry three days. I've never had the magic touch with Future but the Testor's gloss did not want to work on the Floquil. Distilled water was leaving a stain.
So tonight I tried Future, and so far I'm pleased. It went down smooth and I'll let it dry for a couple of days.
But I had a problem with the decals. My test letter underneath the wing shattered, so I put Microscale Liquid Decal film on the rest of the registry letters and I'll try another when the Future is set.
The decals have some kind of mineral grains on them, which are a bit visible in this picture. My plan was to gently work them off when the decals were wet, but now I'll have to see what happens after the decal film. If I have to resort to painting much of the markings can I paint over the Future finish, or will I have to strip it? I think stripping it will probably damage the silver finish and leading to a full finish strip (I already did this once and desperately wish to avoid it again.
Thank you for your thoughts about this.
