first, the vise is a shooting vise with foam making the only contact on the gun.
We were using the gamo pellets supplied with the gun when he bought it.

When shooting, it was not totally clamped in, just resting on/in the foam clamps loosly.
It has the steel barrel and was very clean as they were both brand new guns.

We shot at least 80 shots through the extreme.

I'm not inexperienced, I just never had this much trouble holding groups before, even with much cheaper air guns or rifles.

I would think no matter how the gun was held or with all but the cheapest pellets, this gun would have better groupings than it is.

I maybe spoiled however, I shoot a FX Cyclone which I can consistantly hit a dime at 45 yards and drop squirrels at over 60 on medium power.
