i have been shooting airguns 45 plus years but have recently gotten into springers. the gun in question is a gamo expo in very good cosmetic shape and the bluing looks great also. i started shooting this gun a few days ago and using the gamo magnum pointed 8.2 grn pellet it chronied around 620 fps, which i thought was respectable for this gun. no smoke or dieseling. the more i shoot it tho the more the velocity drops. i chronied it today and it was down to 520 fps. my questions, does this gun have leather or synthetic seal? what should the chrony results be? i took the gun out of the stock and it was very nasty. grease looked like a combination of axle grease and dirt. i sprayed it full of engine degreaser several times and kept rinsing several times. them i washed it good several times with brake cleaner. this stuff cleans very well and evaporates so no moisture is left. i can actually see the main spring and piston is clean and silver. my question, what if any lube do i put on the spring and piston from the bottom? what kind of lubricant and how much do i put in the little oil hole on top? thanks for the help in advance. like i say, i'm a newbie on springers.
