Response to Gamo Stutzen Disassembly HELP

Ok. I found the schematics of the rifle and realized you must pull the retaining pin at the end of the action tube first. The spring of course is held back by two things, the pin itself and the main lug. The cap comes out (although not easily) by tapping it side to side (plastic ones might come out easy but there is not a single plastic thing in this rifle!)

The spring of the stutzen is like something I have never seen in a Gamo. Sturdy and longer. Everything is built very strong. I proceeded to debur, polish and smooth out all parts. Changed the seal (the original was gouched like most gamo seals are when parts are sharp and full of edges). I smoothed out and polished the end of the spring, spring guide and so on. Used Maccari's molly paste on most parts and heavy tar on the spring. Put it all back toghether and voila!! All vibration was gone. Did not improve on speed but the feel of a dry thud and improved accuracy is just great.

Love the rifle
