A shooting buddy of mine had a 440 few years back. We took it apart, cleaned it up, de-burred it, and reinstalled all the factory parts with proper JM lubes, and it was one hell of a shooter, pushing 7.9gr CPs at around 950-960 very smoothly and consistantly. It's a long-stroke narrow-tube design, compared to current designs. When set up properly, it can be a very satisfying gun to shoot. And this was back in the day before replacement upgrade triggers were available.
Hmmm. Wonder if he still has it. Might need to make a phone call.
