He, he! Something I noticed today in the local Sports Authority.....

Looks like Gamo is finally fessing up about the actual weight of the hunter and magnum pellets. The new tins come with labels stating more honest weights. The hunters show 7.58 g and magnums show 7.87 or something real close to that. Can't remember exactly. These were the econo blister packs that come with four tins,...hunters, magnums, match, and master points. The funny part is, the tins with the new labels are still packaged with the old blister pack literature showing weights of 8.4 for the hunters and 8.3 for the magnums. Come on, Gamo, which is it? Just something funny I ran across today and thought I'd share.

LOL....Not a very good one. One time I weighed a Tins of JSB Exacts and 2 tins of Magnum's just for the hell of it, and the JSB's was almost twice as heavy.

Cool info. I never actually weighed any pellets myself, but....

always suspected the hunters, which do shoot pretty well from most of my guns, however. They're noticeably smaller when compared to a very similar pellet, known for being well manufactured, the RWS Superdome.

Interesting side bar about Beeman Field Target Specials

May 21 2007, 5:05 PM

and the .177 pellet weight posted in the Beeman catalogue #24 on page 31, where it lists the weight of the .177 FTS at 9.20 gns. This happens to be one of the consistently outstanding pellets to shoot in my personal arsenal of gamo and German rifles. However after investing in two different "grains scales", one mechanical and one Digital, I began the Quest of determining Actual pellet weights and their variations within a single tin. I've tested two different tins of FTS purchased 12 months apart from two different distributors (retail). The results were consistently measured at 8.35 gns avg. per tin. I carry the decimal out to "hundredths" when there is significant deviation above and below the "tenths" place. That is to say that there were as many 8.3gn as there were 8.4gn pellets (roughly speaking). I'm sure many people go by the Beeman table as quoting pellet weights. I know that my famous name gun shop supplier swears by that published figure, BUT it just 'aint so.
