I have 2 CFX's one in .177 and the other in .22. Bothe have the S/N on the top of the barrel. The .177 likes superdomes and they slip into the loading port nicely. The .22 however is difficult to fit into the loading port (very tight fit) and require a lot of push to get them in enough to close the door. What pellet should I try for long range plinking? Do you use different pellets in your CFX for hunting as apposed to target shooting? What about the predators?

I have one in .177 and the guy I bought the gun from had only shot the Gamo Rockets thru it. I haven't shot too many different pellets thru it but with the Rockets it hit everything out to 65 yards. Tried preds but a difference of 1/2 inch POI, haven't killed anything with them yet. The rockets have killed rabbits out to 65 yards.
Interesting. I am not sure at what distance exactly I was at except it was 80 steps from my target but my super tuned CFX .177 using superdomes would only dent the tin they came in. No penetration. Those tins are not very thick. I like to shoot at them with the underside of the lid facing me because they make a real shiney target. My hits improved greatly by keeping the bore clean. I have heard some say they only rarely run a patch through.

after probably 1500 shots I have yet to clean the barrel. The pellets are really light i'm surprised myself with the fact that rabbits have fallen at that distance with on shot.
