Gamo-Match pellets redesigned?!

I've been using alot of the .22 Gamo Match pells and have been for years.

For at least 10 of my guns, they are preferred-ammo and have shot well in virtually all of my airguns.

When I got my last batch, I was distressed to see that the design had been changed... the length on the newer pells was approx .005 longer and the once-deep skirt cavities had been replaced by a more solid design with a reduced cavity.

Although the tin still says 13.88 gns weight, the pells weigh over 15 gns.

Accuracy has gone from 'excellent' to 'mediocre' and they now fit much tighter in most of my break-barrel springers. Unless I use a pell-seat, the skirts are deformed when I close the breech.

Even when seated, the accuracy is inferior to the old tried and true design. POI is lower, due to weight/friction issues.

The skirt wall thicknesses are visibly inconsistent with the new pells.

Why fix things that aren't broke!!!

Now, I'm stuck with 4 tins of this junk. These used to be some of my favorite ammo to buy but now, I'll never purchase another tin.

(This is in no way intended to disparage the vendor from whom these were purchased... they have no control over ammo QC)

Has anyone else noticed the change?

And for what it's worth...

I e-mailed Gamo, voicing my disappointment and begging them to please, please go back to the old design.

I called customer service after, was put on hold and then got disconnected.

Too bad. Looks like the good ammo may be gone forever.
