This is how I got rid of the ugly Gamo set-up and I guess I can't leave well enough alone. I want to chop the barrel just behind the Beeman brake. Balance would be just about perfect, but it is quite accurate now and I wonder if by cutting the barrel, would I mess up my groups? What do y'all think? that looks like a good job. How do you keep the lever up?

Got the idea from fellow airgunner, Dave Dunn. Little silver thing between barrel and lever is a stong magnet. Bored a shallow hole in top of lever and JB Welded the magnet in. Got the magnet at Harbor freight, in a pack of 8 I believe, and quite inexpensive. Take care, TomJ

Here's my CFX chop job. Actually, it's a re-barrel job, but it is shorter than stock:

As you can see, I used three magnets, WAY more hold than it needs. The barrel is an LW 16mm .20, still in the white, obviously. This is still a work in progress, but it's pretty far down on the priority list, almost everything is taking second (or worse) place to my ongoing restoration of my '74 Airstream travel trailer. Got a cross country trip planned for this summer, may be calling on some air gun buds along the way . Later.
