looking to adopt a catahoula...he's 3 mos old. i work 8hrs every 4 days...wondering if its okay to leave him in backyard when old enough and then when i get home take him for a run. it will have a companion to play with

i think most dogs would prefer to be left outside rather than in a crate. as long as they can get out of the elements, the temps outside are not extreme and they have plenty of water, i see no problem with it. you do need to be careful that he doesn't go over the fence trying to follow you.

you really need to be sure that your fence is secure before you attempt leaving him without you being home.
