Tricep Injury Update

I wanted to update everyone on my arm. I had an appointment with Dr. Savoie this morning. I was really hoping and praying he was going to move me to an adjustable mobility brace, but he said he need to look at some x-rays first. After viewing the x-rays, he said I had progressed much faster than he had anticipated. Not only did he say I was ready to move the mobility brace, but he was going to give me 0-30 degrees movement. Originally, he planned to keep the brace at 0 degrees for the first week. In addition, he removed all the staples. This was great news to me. I had had about enough of the straight arm splint I had been wearing since May 6th. The mobility brace is also removable, so I can take a shower, etc (Yes, I have been bathing in the bathtub!).

Based on Dr. Savoie's opinion, I have sort of set some timetables for returning to training:

Eight weeks in the mobility brace: July 19th (My Dad's Birthday)
Twelve weeks rehab: October 11th

He did tell me that his first thoughts when he saw my arm was it would be six months before he would release me to train at my own pace. This morning, he said if I keep progressing the way I did this first week, we may be able to reduce that to four months. So, I feel pretty much on target with the timetable above. I should be able to return by October. Will I be ready for the 23rd Annual Mississippi Bench Press Championships? Only One know the answer to that.

Anyway, that is the latest. I can not thank everyone enough for their concerns, thoughts, and prayers. I has meant so much more to me than I could ever put into words.

On the mend,

Byron
