Response to Kory bench press question

 

...the bar is lowered to the chest...once it is motionless, you can press it back to arm's length. There is no sinking or heaving once the bar is motionless. The only direction the bar can travel is upwards. That is, regression is not allowed. I personally like to have a "press" command given to me by someone off the judging platform. That way there is little question as to whether or not the bar was paused long enough.
