This is how that name came about:
The ULL team was on the morning news in Lafayette about going to Nationals a couple of years ago. We mentioned something about me competing at the Biggest Bench on the River and the host misunderstood and thought we said, "Biggest Bench on the BAYOU". The host's name is Bob Moore who was putting together a bench meet at the time. When we explained to him that it was the "Biggest Bench on the RIVER", he decided to name HIS meet "......on the BAYOU". I lifted in it the first year and I went to watch at the last one. August Clark went to the last one. He didn't compete, but I think he just said a few words and maybe did an exhibition.
