idea

Personally, I'd like to think the idea of being a state champion would be something to brag about. Unfortunately, so many divisions exist now that the majority of those who enter the state meet (not just our state, every state)will walk away as an unopposed state champion.

Personally, I'd like to see only an open division at the state meet. No splintering. Those of all ages could enter, but they wouldn't be spread out over a dozen divisions per weight class. They'd compete for the honor of being "state champ" like everyone else. If the meet were given a little extra publicity (I would volunteer to help with this), I think it could make for a really fun meet.

After all, there are still numerous other USAPL meets each year in which everyone can splinter into different divisions and win a trophy.

Personally, I'd like to see a little depth to the weight classes returned to the state meet.......I get the impression that 20 years ago, winning a state meet was kind of a big deal. I'd like to see this again in at least one local meet per year.

Just an idea. I welcome feedback.
