In Louisiana, Collegiate powerlifting is huge...hence the Louisian Collegiate Records that you probably saw. Although there are some junior-aged lifters who are not in college, keeping both records would be rather redundant.
As for teen records, when USAPL-Louisiana started keeping the records in 1999, there were very few teens involved in the USAPL. Most teens lifted in the LHSPLA.....just like they still do today. Nevertheless, there have been more and more teen lifters crossing over and doing USAPL meets as well, so it would probably be appropriate to start keeping teen records too.
Billy Callahan, a man who already does a LOT for powerlifting in Louisiana, is our record chairman and he has been trying to give that job away for quite some time now....but no takers. As in any organization, 10% of the members do 90% of the work. You should consider getting involved. Help is always appreciated. |
