Response to Push & Pull on the River I

Kory,

I have a picture of the 730 Pull with the entire Bayou Fitness Crew screaming right behind the lifting platform. I will have that one on my desk forever, because those are the memories that I will most remember about my powerlifting career when it's over. It's been neat watching everyone support and push each other in the gym and at Meets. There is no doubt that you and TMQ are pushing the edge and will no doubt be the next generation of 275ers (or SHWs) at the State and National Level (Big D and Ernie Richards at Tech too). Like I said back in 1999, there was never a doubt about your potential and persisitence. You were able to train through probably the most difficult time in your life and balance family, sickness, work and still make significant gains.........hitting the BIG 700 (after moving it 4 inches). There is no doubt that everything is begininng to fall into place for you on the platform. Like I was telling Todd on the way home..........your training has made you BRUTE strong and as you polish off your groove on the platform there is no doubt that you will crash through the 2000 barrier.

Thanks to Pat Chidester, Debbie Alexander, and Sarge for judging the entire day! Hope I didn't use all my white lights up at this meet.

Hopefully I will be able to join Billy, Arval, Marlon, Dave, Tom and the rest of the crew in the Masters. The numbers that they have set have put the Masters at a new level.

It was great to see you and Chrystal at the meet. She went the whole day AFTER a week of Chemo and she looked great! Smiling and in great spirits (and red hairs)! I think it helps us all keep our feet grounded and appreciate our health that we are able to compete.

TMQ hope things are going well. We missed you and know that it would have been very interesting had you been there. Hope things work out for January............set a date to come train and we'll block a time for us all to lift so that we can see what the Lake Charles Rock is cookin. P
