Some of you might remember that last year, a couple of weeks before the state meet, I got a call from a Hospital in Florida about a man that was in ICU and not expected to live. The only thing they found on him was a copy of his entry form in his pocket, thus the call to me.
Well, a couple of weeks ago I got a letter from Larry requesting an entry form to the meet this year! Here is what he wrote:
"I was going to compete in this meet last year, but wound up in the hospital instead. I had been feeling lousy for a few weeks but thought it was just the flew that everyone had last year. However it was "bacterial pneumonia with acute respiratory failure". One week in intensive care, two more on the ward and then several miserable months on oxygen and trying to get back to normal. As soon as I could I began working out again. It's great to be back on the platform again. Your meet will be my third since getting back on my feet. My lifts are still pretty low, but getting better. Hope to see you at the meet."

Welcome back Larry!!! I know you don't have a computer. I will try to put together a meet program and include this post. There have been some very courageous folks fighting the battle of their lives close to home and it is great to hear when they are pulling through some dark times. Especially so in your case when you are able to make it back to the platform! As long as you can make the trip to Louisiana you will never have an entry fee at this meet!!
