Well I have to say from my visit to Ukraine, is that many of you guys are very much wrong about Ukraine. Not to put anyone down. but I did my homework. All my research and questions paid off. I suggest those looking for a wife to do the same. As I previouly posted I, knew all the possiblities and was taking my chances of being scammed. I am glad I took the chance. I found a very nice lady.
There is some much to see and do there. I loved it there so much I was thinking seriously of staying. It didn't matter to my speacial lady if we lived in the USA or Ukraine. She actually wanted me to stay there. I am planning to make many more trips there and to be taking family and friends. I am going back in November, December to visit and to see what Ukraine looks like during the winter. Well be very intresting.
While I was there. I meet few of Chernovsty famous people. No matter where I went I was treat like a king there. Restaunts are the best and there are many of them. And are cheap to dine out. I was there for their Indepence day and it was very nice. Many differant places had singer, dancers, etc. of their local community. We did a lot of walking all over the city in old and new part. Had no problem from anyone and never felt like I was endangered. In fact I felt safer there than in any of our cities here in the USA. I have been in every major city in the USA.
The only thing I have to say that is bad about Ukraine is their roads are very rough.

What impressed me was all the restoring of the buildings. Many new homes being built. (Being a builder I was very much intrested in their buildings.)They have many beautiful women. seldom that you see one that is over weight.

The agency I used had everything arranged. I thought they did a very excellent job. They are small with few ladies but very successfull in bring together couples.

Have any questions you can write to me and I will do my best to answer them. I can tell more about my trip to Ukraine.

Congratulations Jon - My Wife is from Chernivsty and on my last trip we were married and now we wait patiently ( which is very hard) for my wife's migration application to be finalised as she has had the medical and interview and all went well.

You will like it in winter but remember to take non slip shoes / boots as walk ways/paths are very slippery.

I liked Chernivsty a lot.

Did you manage to spend any time in Kiev.

They are wonderful people and i basically had no problems at all the times i have been and the last time i was there for 7 weeks except for the water but i quickly got used to this.

It was good to see the difference between winter and summer too

thank you. I hope yours turn out ok also. How long did your process take? I am now in process of filling the forms out. I was unable to visit Kiev much this time. But will be when I go back. Her sister lives there we plan to stay there.

Before I went there I was a little worried about what to expect. ( espeacialy after reading everything on this site) But it is a lot better than what many write about on here. Sure there might be scams there. But I have also seen scams here in the States also. not much different. Research is main thing I did and many questions. The agency I used was loveclicks international website is www.loveclicks.net It is a family run. The oldest boy does some of the translations (very good for his age). well I hope everyone good luck. Please do your research.it helps. but let a few bad apples spoil a nice place to visit.

Small Agency

Perhaps if you listed the name of the agency it would interesting. I myself used a "small" agency, the issues didn't start until the lady had immigrated. I wish you the best of luck but one thing is for sure, issues do not always start in Chernovtsy. Everyone is on their best behavior, including western guys, I'm sure.

If you are dealing with a small agency and it starts with T........com, I would be extremely careful, it is now run in part by people here in Canada that I wouldn't trust.

Ayyway best of luck.

thanks for the advice. I have already thought of the possiblities of the problems starting once she arrives here. Yes, everyone is always on good terms when they first meet. Even though through corresponding and the little time we spent together, we believe that we are right for each other. It is when people finally spend every moment together, is where you find out for sure. I know that we might not be compatible once she is here. And if we are not, I am prepared for this. I am not going to worry about what I spent on the process either. I am not rich, but money has no value to me. I am not going to worry about something that can be replace. I choose to take the chance of finding a wife other than my country. I can only blame myself, if it doen't not work out.
Personally I realy don't know why anyone would want to leave there. I liked the city and the country very much.
I am sorry to here that yours didn't work out. But you have to admit. You made the choice also, you can't blame her no matter what her motive was.

You're welcome for the advice be it from my own experience, your mileage may vary. And once again I wish you the best of luck.

I disagree though that you only have yourself to blame should it not work out. It takes two to tango. If one partner comes into the relationship with misguided feelings/expectations or even partial dishonesty then they are to blame for their own actions.

As for the reason for anyone leaving, there are probably a lot of reasons, but the economy has to be factored in.

I am also sorry that my partnership didn't work out but as for blaming myself 100%, no way, she was at least 50% responsible. Yes I made a choice but so did she. She did not live up to to her statements, vows and responsibilities. Anyway the point is mute she is now in Canada, got her immigration and the rest of it will be up to her.

What I am really upset about and my previous posts mention this she is now "training" her freinds in how to gain entry into this country, although she claims Canada stinks. And that response I have heard from more than just one immigrant. Perhaps the expectations of this country are just to high.

Thank you for your best wishes. I am sorry that yours didn't work out. Only time will tell on mine. And maybe I might be wrong about my lady. But I really believe she is serious after meeting her and her family.
I agree on letting others know about the scammers and ladies who use men to gain visas. Those who are seeking a wife in another country are taking the chance of being use. ( even myself ). My point is I take the blame because I know the possiblities and I am taking the chance.
But the most important for everyone is DO NOT SEND MONEY. I made it clear in my first letter that I will not be sending any money and the reason. I ask many questions.

Good for you!

I've been down the same path - now for three years.

Your correct in everything you say, especially about the responsibility part.

We all, us men, take a chance on the girl we "pick".

Whether she is from Ukraine, or TimBukTu, it's always a crap shoot. So it is for the women too!

I wish you good luck - as I have had the same.

My wife and I will be happily married on Oct 16 for 4 wonderful years
My education is in psychology--marriage and family therapy.
We are headed to Chernovtsy for 3 weeks on Sept 25 and are very much looking forward to our visit with her family.
My wife owns Marianna's Marriage Agency--http://www.mariannasmarriageagency.com and she or her aunt have meet every one of the 450 ladies.
My wife guarantees a reply from the lady on every letter or she removes the lady and credits the man.
Most important --never send money to a woman you have never met --no matter what.
Congrulations to Jon on his pending marriage.
INS is currently taking 75 to 110 days average from the time they receipt in your $110.00 to the day the lady has her appointment in Warsaw.
I am so glad this message board has become useful and helpful instead of filled with fithy mouth people some months ago.
Have a great day.

Hi, Cecil how you doing? I don't know if you remember me. I wanted to thank you for your advice and quick response to my questions. I had a great time. I love Chernivtsi. The only problem I had on my trip was Air France lost my luggage. But did get it to me after 5 days there.
Well have a good time over there. I will be going back in Jan 2003 for Xmas with her family.
I have a website I started with some photos of my trip. It would give few an ideal of what they will see.

Hi cecil,jon.

Great to read your stories ! Looking forward to the trip Jan.2003..

I 've had some lessons in this field and your words and experiances help alot.

The whole process has been great and costly!!

Too bad I didn't meet Cecil 8 months ago.

I think XMAS in Ukraine will be a great trip for me.

I am looking forward to meeting my lady from,Chernivsti very soon.

Mariannas marriage agency is top flight stuff. All my letters were answered by the ladies in a few days!!!

The luggage issue I read about can be eliminated by purchasing a "small" baggage insurance policy prior to your departure from the originating airport.

Then your bags will be hand delivered to you instead of waiting by the carousel for 45min.!!

Have a great day!!

Glad to see that you had a great time in Chernovtsy. I live there and I am an American From California. You are right about safety there. I feel safer there than anywhere in the USA and the people make you feel very welcome. As for the women They definetly live up to the word Beautiful. As for the winter in Cherovtsy it usually is not very bad although last year my daughter said they had an unsual amount of snow. If you need any other info please write me at gavila98@hotmail.com and I will try to answer it. As for the roads yes they are a little rough but that is due to the small cobblestone black blocks that make the roads. They are nice but a little rough but once outside the city they are like roads in the USA more like Houston Roads and if you have been to Houston you will know what I mean.

www.datingukraine.net.

This is great and Maria is wonderful. She knows all her girls very well and no scammers on her site. I have been there and have nothing but praise for her. I often wonder how she exists with the small amount of money for her service. Yes, I have done my home work, met her in person and seen her operation. I know that mostly it is a labor of love for her. The smaller city girls have huge advantages. You will not be sorry here. Oh yes, I am bringing my girl home in a few months!

The best people I have ever met. Strangers treated me like family!

i have just returned from a trip to Chernovtsy in Ukraine. i had the missfortune to meet someone from luba's club, and speak to mrs Baranova(Lamb). funny name for such a horrible person. When i wouldn't gtive her girls any expensive presents she had one of her girls put lemon juice over my food so that i had a bad allergic reaction. i was in agony for most of the week, she then told me on the phone that i should go back to england and that i needed to look after my health with all my allergies as an accident might happen!

it is interesting to read that someone has actually been successful in chernovtsy and would be interested to know your secrets?
