About a month ago I got an email from a Russian woman in my yahoo account. She said she lived in a dangerous area of Russia, lived with parents that were retired and receiving a very small pension. She said she had a degree in accounting but had a job as a waitress because she couldn't find a job in her profession. Every time she sent me an email she kept repeating that she was getting closer to me. She sent me a ton of pictures during that time. Here it is a month past and she says she wants to get a visa to come here to be with me in america. I've repeatedly asked her what her intentions are, whether she wants to date or she wants to stay with me permanently. Unfortunately, she either doesn't understand my words or she's ignoring me. The only personal info I've told her is my first and last name and gave her a PO Box address. The truth is I'm not ready for a wife...I was just looking for a date and this woman I think may want instant marriage or a place to live. Is this a scam? What can she possibly do with the info she has of me?

here is the way they do it. They start innocent. they say they will come to see you. they say daddy will help. then they say daddy has connections with the goverment to get her into the US. then they say daddy will pay for the plain ticket. then they say daddy cannot afford to pay for the passport and visa so could you help. each time they send a better and better picture. the tip off is they seem not to understand what you say-- oh yes they do! seems reasonable, so i send $340 for the passport and visa and daddy pays the rest. Oh but daddy found our he must buy round trip ticket so he wants to know if I can foot another $374 to make up the difference. Hey its a bargain and I dont have to go to Russia. Send it off- never hear from them again. My sister works for the INS. she said that a single woman almost can never get a visa to the US, Unless Putin himself request it.

I had a feeling she was a scammer when she asked me for $211 dollars for a visa. I told her she had to find the money herself. She just sent me an email a few days ago that she wanted to know what the nearest airport was. I told her but I didn't tell her what my address was. Only problem is that I gave her my PO Box # and my first and last name. Do you think she's still scamming me? Do you think she's trying to get a green card? She last told me she was heading here. What should I do now? Do you think she'll find me?

She has a snowballs chance in hell of getting a visa without you filing the paperwork for a fiance visa for her.
