Lubov Baranova's agency. Before I found my fiancee, I had written to half a dozen girls there in Chernovtsy, and associated with Baranova. Luckily, I was contacted by a few men who had been taken for quite a bit of money. Even worse, most of these men had been corresponding with ladies, and upon their arrival in Chernovtsy were told that the woman they had developed a supposedly meaningful relationship with, were no longer available!!!!! I can tell you this group is much larger than 5, and at one point there was an entire chat site devoted to men who had been taken by Baranova. If there is truly such a thing as a mail order bride, Baranova's agency is it. She tries very hard to sell you. At one point, I was getting letters from 5 or 6 new women every week claiming they were in love with me! If you don't believe this, I still have copies of the emails. Upon hearing some stories from these men, I inquired about her fees. She wanted $300. for transportation from the airport, and although this is a long trip, a cab costs less than half as much. She also insists that you use her accomodations for a hotel at $70. per night, in a town where the going rate is $10. to $15. On top of this, she tries to insist on wedding fees of $500, a photo fee, and even sells engagement rings on site. If you end up engaged to one of "her girls" that are available, she has a $1000. fee. I had also heard that many men who used her services were bullied into paying outrageous fees for excursions, fancy meals for the girls relatives, and dozens of other horror stories. I personally have never paid a dime to any agency, and would never consider using one, but I am sure there are better agencies than this one!
