I remember Chris Allen from his Forest days under Frank Clark/Churchill Insurance Dog, and thinking he was quite handy. To have ended up trawling the lower leagues then ending up at Slough/Dover, and possibly being 'snapped up' by us, suggests there is something not quite there. As far as I know he didn't have injury problems, so why is he out of the league at 29??? From the Dover game at home he looked fantastic, but is there any point signing the guy, only for him to show off for a few games?
