| A Game of Two Halves without doubt! In the first half we were really good. We were competitive. We played attractive football and it was exciting!! We matched them and actually I thought we played better than them.
The players got clapped off the pitch at half time and they deserved it. A really good first half performance.
Then what happened? Why is it that we concede one silly goal and then thats it, the floodgates open. OK Boston are a good side but it is frustrating because if we did what we did in the first half we would not of lost 4-0 I'm sure!
I agree with the bloke below. Tucker was at fault for 2 of their goals and his hesistation in not coming for crosses cost us again, Im not sure he is as good as some people think - well he is good but that side of his game really needs to improve as its almost as if he costs us as many points as he wins us!
But also defensive mistakes and poor marking were also to blame, for the 4th goal their guy just ran through us like we were schoolboys.
Perkins was our best player today, in the first half he had a lot of influence and held everything together very well, in the second half he was almost on his own in the middle as Webber went missing and DSane looked out of shape, then Kadi was injured. I think the sports.com ratings are a bit depressing but some fairly accurate, this is what they were:
G 1. Tucker - 6
D 1. Piper - 5
D 1. Smith - 5
D 1. Saunders - 6
D 1. West - 5
M 1. Perkins - 7
M 1. Pitman - 5
M 1. Kadi - 5
F 1. Webber - 6
F 1. Sharpling - 6
F 1. D'Sane - 5
Tucker made a couple of good saves in the first half but in my opinion had a nightmare in the second. I think he should get a 5. Piper was worth more than a 5 as was Smith, I would give them both a 6. West was poor although his effort was good, I would go along with the 5. Perkins for me a 7 or 8, a good game, Pitman a 6, Kadi a 6 he did quite well, Webber was very poor a 5, DSane also poor and I agree with the 5 and also the 6 for sharpling.
A couple of points. I am not sure why Barry Moore was dropped from Midfield obviously in favour of DSane or Webber. OK so Dsane maybe we know a little bit about, but Webber, he came from Andover? I mean no offence to the lad but Barry has been one of our better players, although not brilliant lately I was surprised to see him dropped!
DSane. I thought he was good in his one appearance for us (then he went back to Slough and then Southend United) but he was well out of it today and did not look like the same player!!!
So out of that midfield I would say only Perkins should start on Boxing Day, I think Kadi did well but I think Scott Steele will come back in when he is not suspended.
Up front I would prefer to see Charlie, West is too slow.
What are we going to do with Sharpy? | |
