Response to Results?

I don't think we miss him either. I don't think he was having a good season so I think you've summed it up right. I would also say that so far, our best midfielder has been Barry Moore - but to be perfectly honest we did not miss him in the first half against Boston either (not really sure what that shows us - just my opinion).

No player walks on water. We've seen that we can live without Scott Steele, Lol Batty, Steve West ... the list goes on. I don't think our results have really improved (or got worse) without Roddis in all honesty ... in fact, I think that they would have been about the same because as you say, we've been poor away and good at home all season. We still would have lost to Boston, I think, and I would have fancied at least a draw against Farnborough.

I think the real revelation since Chapple is Eddie Saunders ... unlike some, I always liked him and although he is probably not the best defender in the world he's got plenty of attributes that make up for that. In my opinion, our defence has improved since his arrival. As such, I think he is way ahead of Westy in the starting line up at the moment.

Another revelation of sorts is Scott Smith, who is proving to be far better in a back four than I thought he would be - or than he has been in the past. This is interesting because once Steeley is fit, presumably Eddie's only a temporary fix. I'm not 100% sure I can actually see a long-term future for Westy at all, although I am of course assuming that Chapple will rate Steeley as high as I do.
