So, Christmas wish list...very pie-in-the-sky, but could we have Barry Miller please?

Not old enough

You weren't forgetting who our manager is now, were you, Beck.
If his first three signings have a combined age of under 100, I'll be surprised.

Disagree

Yes, I know what you mean about Chapple - and I realise you're talking (partly) in jest, but I heard that Colin liked the rather good Jon Boardman, whereas Geoff preferred the even better Barry Miller. Of course, Daggers want him too - and I'd be a fool to think he'd chose us over them, given the choice.

As far as age is concerned - he's 25/26. Not exactly a youngster.

Might be right

The crucial thing is, he's been released by at least one league club. That's usually the clincher.

PS: Steve Foster was 20. I'm being harsh. It's my job.

Heh heh ...

I did suddenly think of Foster actually

Miller was released by Brentford and Gillingham. Is that good or bad, then?

I'd absolutely love us to sign him because I think he is one of the best centrebacks in the league. But I guess it's a (very) long shot.

a change

December 14 2001, 1:15 PM

Yes, but he might have changed. Didn't he put some subs on the other week when there was more than 5 minutes left, or was I dreaming.

And Scarboro threaten Boston with a winding-up order!

December 13 2001, 7:00 PM

They 'bought' Paul Ellender from Scarboro for 30k, paid in 10k instalments, but only paid the first 10k ( but didn't include the VAT! ) They were then due to pay the rest upon him playing so many games. He's gone past that, so the Boro chairman has called his lawyers in!
Boston say they are in contact with the Boro and they will be aware of our changed situation regarding ownership of the club and when things are sorted out there, they can settle the dispute.
