Dave Piper

I know football's all about personal opinions, but I just can't believe some of the stuff written about Piper on an earlier thread.

I think he sometimes gets caught out of position in defence, but his play going forward more than makes up for that. I personally think he's the best attacking right fullback/wingback we've had since Stuart Mitchell.

My Dad, who knows nothing about the Woking players (he only comes to about one game a season when he comes down to visit) thought Piper stood head and shoulders above the others (although my Dad may for personal reasons be biased towards his fellow baldies).

I like Piper too BUT....

You can understand why some people are alarmed at his occasional defensive frailties. He is definately more of a wing back than an out and out right back.

Interesting comments, I thought he was better as a full back in a back 4 rather than as a wing back. Thats what we played last season and he definately had his best year with us.

I think as a wing back he gets good crosses in, but looks poorer defensively, but then it is a lot to ask of any player.
