To be honest if he wants to go thats fine, after watching the game against Yovil, I felt that Charlie Griffin was far more influential,Lets see charlie and Sharps as the front two again. remember last season they were almost telepathic.
so come on Geoff Sharps and Griff upfront and we'll start scoring goals.

Walking with Giantkillers: Beware the Underdog.
BBC1 Friday 10.35pm - 11.15pm
Ok all you Cards, set the Video. To coincide with the 3rd Round of the FA Cup (which we seem to have missed out on this year. . . again) the good ol' BBC have produced a "Football Giantkilling TV progamme" just to remind us what it was like. It contains interviews with Tim Buzaglo and Geoffrey Chapple about that famous day in 1991 at The Hawthorns, the documentary also has interviews with Laurence Batty and Clive Walker and I'm sure it'll be a must for all Cardinal or Non League Giantkilling anoraks.
Alternatively you can re-live some of the glory of that day and the following 4th Round at Goodison Park on the following gratuitously plugged links:
The follwing side have survived after losing 21 or more games:
1995/6 - dover lost 24
1995/6 - bath lost 22
1995/6 slough lost 21
1997/8 - farnboro lost 22
1999/0 - fgr lost 21
1999/0 - hednesford lost 21
There are anomalies also -
1993/4 slough lost 17 and went down, whereas dover lost 18 and finished 8th!
With the news that Steele's knee injury may have been aggrivated by him playing at Morecombe, I think that our lack of reserves may be very costly. I mentioned on here b4 that I think the lack of reserves has serverly hindered us this season, however with our best defender possibly out for the season, and squad players not playing, it could be a big factor in our relegation battle. I think we'd lose more money being relegated, than having a reserve side would have cost us.
I said as much in the match report. I think that the lack of a reserve side could cost us too dear. Jamie Pitman has been playing against medical advice - Rob H is back in training but if we had a reserve side, surely he would have come back sooner. Jamie Pitman is now out for the rest of the season and I can't help asking - was this avoidable?
We've also had a large, swollen squad and we're paying them wages, probably more than reserve players would have been on. I know that the actual matches also cost money, but even so ...
-5 at present. Chance it may rain on Saturday as well. That will be nice then...freezing rain. Football on ice..perhaps the squad can give themselves a snappy new title.."The Cougar Cards" anyone?
I know football's all about personal opinions, but I just can't believe some of the stuff written about Piper on an earlier thread.
I think he sometimes gets caught out of position in defence, but his play going forward more than makes up for that. I personally think he's the best attacking right fullback/wingback we've had since Stuart Mitchell.
My Dad, who knows nothing about the Woking players (he only comes to about one game a season when he comes down to visit) thought Piper stood head and shoulders above the others (although my Dad may for personal reasons be biased towards his fellow baldies).
You can understand why some people are alarmed at his occasional defensive frailties. He is definately more of a wing back than an out and out right back.
Interesting comments, I thought he was better as a full back in a back 4 rather than as a wing back. Thats what we played last season and he definately had his best year with us.
I think as a wing back he gets good crosses in, but looks poorer defensively, but then it is a lot to ask of any player.
That's very bad news. We need a central defender and a left back now more than ever. Who on earth is going to play left back on Saturday? I really hope BFG has got something up his sleeve (Luckett?). Otherwise I suspect Barry Moore will draw the short straw, and he's not looked very comfortable at left back - or possibly Scott Smith, with Westy alongside Eddie in the centre? Trouble is, I don't think Westy has been playing well either and Smith does an excellent job alongside Saunders ...
I really do feel Webber is more of a central type. I quite like him but I think that McGorry will come in (if the Southport fan is correct), and he will also play central. So the question is who will lose out I suppose. Possibly Webber, although he did well at Morecambe. I don't know, really!
Rob has been injured since the defeat at Hayes, and Jamie was filling in. Rob is back in training but I'm not sure how ready he is. Of course, we have no reserve side so he'll doubtless be rushed back too soon (like Paul Steele?).
