Response to Cincinnati Reds Team Autographed baseball

Hello Mary,

The baseball you have is from 1975, and has facsimile signatures on it. A very common mistake people make. I wrote an article on this subject, and you might want to read it to better understand.
Fake Similar Autographs Facsimile

Baseballs like this were normally used for promotions, and or sold at Major League stadiums as souvenirs.

The baseball you have is worth between $15. -- $20. If you can dig up any promotional advertising with the baseball you could get about $40. -$50. The "Bleeding" or smudging of the ink is caused by a low grade porous cover on the baseball causing the ink to seep into the cover. I also have a facsimile baseball from the same era (1977) that has the same problem.

1977 New York Yankees Facsimile Autograph Souvenir Baseball

From looking at the pictures I am 99.9% sure this is a facsimile ball, becoming 100% if I had the baseball in my hand to verify it. Read the article on facsimile signatures and you will agree.

I put up a page for more information on this ball.

I hope this information helped you out. Thank you for the pictures.
