I have a baseball given to me by a neighbor of my grandparents, Ernie Fliegel. He was a professional boxer/manager and he told me that he collected the signatures himself. The ball iteslf is labeled The Cushioned Cork Center Spalding and Official National League with a signature below National League. The ball is signed by Al Lopez who I believe was the manager of the team. PLayers whose signatures are on the ball include: Bobby Avila, Yoggi Berra, Whitey Ford, Nelson Fox, Bill Hoeft, Al Kaline, Bill Pierce, Vic Power, Frank Sullivan, Bob Turley, Mickey Vernon, Ted Williams, Jim Wilson and Ealy Wynn. There are also a couple of signatures that I can't read. What would be an approximate value if in good condition? I'm afraid to mail it to a valuation service. What are other options to determine value and authenticity? |
