Is there microfilm newspapers from the late 1800s for Scotsboro. I recently found out that my husbands great grandfather was killed over women and whisky. The source said, it was in the paper.

His name was W.C. Whitfield and was married to a Mary E. Dicus. They married in 1864, so this incident was sometime after that. I heard he was killed and the kids moved to Paris TX with the eldest daughter of WC and Mary.

Any help or connections to this family appreciated.
