Seeking information on the following man:

James Black Rozell born 11 August 1807 Jackson County, Alabama
died 7 August 1896 Protem, Missouri

Two years prior to enlistment in the US Service, JAMES ROSWELL lived at Bellfont, Alabama and was a farmer. He enlisted on 26 October 1837 as a private under Captain PETER ROZELL, Regiment of Col. Ben Snodgrass of the Alabama MTD. Discharged 9 April 1838 at Fort Mitchell, Alabama . In a declaration for original invalid pension filed 28 September 1878 from Protem, Missouri at the age of 71 he stated "while on a charge horseback in Florida about Christmas 1837, I was ruptured. I am now entirely unable to work on account of the rupture and claim a pension". This contains Mr. Rozell's signature and also M. P. Rozell's signature as a witness. After his discharge from the service he lived in McMinnville, Warren County, Tennessee about 8 years before moving to Carolton, Carol County, Mississippi for about 20 years. He married 1 Sarah Fulakner 2 Deborah MUNCY 3. Nancy Jackson

All help appreciated.
