Family Tree says Bud Hilliard Phillips father John P. Phillisp mother Harriet Roberts, Grandfather Levi Phillips b. 1785 NC d. 4 July 1842 Jackson Co. GA. There is a long Phillips family tree you can see either at ancestry.com or at rootsweb.com. The family tree I saw was in error in listing a Margaret Jane Reynolds??? b. 1857 as his only spouse. The 1880 Census lists wife as Charity and the Jackson Co. Marriage Records shows him marrying Margaret J. Bailey b. Oct 1877 and she is listed with him on the 1900 Census. Charity was likely his first wife and Margaret N. Bailey his second. So I would take the family tree as a guide but give the records the most weight.
