I am researching Campbell, Martin & Fowler families, but am trying to find info on Campbells at this time. Farlow L. Campbell, born 25 Sept. 1887, died in Jackson County, Al. 26 Sept. 1923. The last record I have of him before his death, he registered for draft in Etowah Co. in 1917, was living in Gadsden at that time.Farlow's parents were James A. Campbell, born July 1832 in Ga, & Charity Naomi Martin, born Dec. 1852 in Ga. & died May 1929, Dekalb Co.
I would like to know who James Campbell's ancestors were. I can't find anything on him. Also, I don't know where James & Charity are buried.
Charity came from Dawson Co, Ga, along with her first child (born out of wedlock)James Milton Martin, and her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth Catherine Martin and Samuel Milton Fowler and their children. Elizabeth Catherine Martin and Samuel Milton Fowler were my ggrandparents. Samuel died in 1884 and is buried at Chaney's Chapel.Sometime after his death, the rest of family moved to Dekalb Co.
My questions are- Did Farlow Campbell live in Jackson Co at time of his death in 1923? Where did he work? How did Farlow Campbell die? Who on earth was James Campbell? I can't find anything definite on him! James Campbell and Charity Martin were married in 1885 in Dekalb Co. I wonder if they met in Jackson County, Ala?
The last record I can find of James A.Campbell was in 1900 census, Dekalb Co. I realize we are supposed to stick to Jackson County, but I wondered if maybe James A. Campbell was from Jackson County and that is why Farlow was there at time of his death.I apologize if I have crossed any lines.
I asked some of these questions a few months ago and several of you were very helpful. I thought maybe some of you might have stumbled across new info since then. Thanks for all the interesting emails everyday!
