Did you open the Herald Sun today?? The centre Main section?? The main article by "Robbo at the bar?? a full page of Nat Grinham....
Now I agree that free to air has been disappointing but I do not agree that it is channel 9's responsibility to raise the profile of squash in this country.
I am saying that both the radio stations, the newspapers and this website have raised the profile of squash at the Commonwealth games.
I do believe that the coverage we have received has been adequate overall. I think the Grinham sisters have done more for this country in a week than... well.... well lets just say that they have done a lot.
I believe that Fox has had decent coverage. I believe that the equipment to provide the best possible coverage was supplied. I believe the commentry was first rate. I know it is not supplied free to air but I am damn sure if I was as keen as you say you are... then I would have found access to a video tape...
I do not subscribe to the theory that we are more important than the so called "lesser sports" you name.
NO I do not work for channel 9. Am a former head coach, former touring international and my family ran a squash centre business for over 40 years. I have worked for a state association in junior development.
I am not just someone very defensive of the station. I am someone who is very aware of the inadequacies of squash in Australia.
