All the best to Nicol Ann David as she needs to go through a lot of tests to win the women singles gold medal. The tests are Australian sisters, Rachael and Natalie Grinham. As everyone know, Nicol will meet Natalie in the semis. If Nicol make it through to the final....she will most probably meet Rachael unless, Shelley Kitchen provides another one of her giant upsets....Not forgetting another hurdle, Nicol will need to overcome the home crowd in her pursuit for the gold medal as the spectators are mostly Australians and will definitely be rooting their support for their players. As she is one of Malaysia's gold medal hopefuls, this squash ace will off course be receiving morale-boasting cheers from Malaysians like me who are there to watch her making through these hurdles and win Malaysia's 1st squash gold medal....Best wishes and good luck, Nicol!

Basically, my expectations for Nicol is totally wrong this time....her defeats to Natalie and Shelley was really a great shock....but no matter what happen....Malaysians will still support her through this hard time....cause we know that she had given all her best to try to win the gold medal for herself and Malaysia despite losing.....Malaysia's hopes are still alive for her to win gold in the mixed doubles through the combination of Nicol and Ong Beng Hee. I'm sure her rise and fall this time will inspire her to greater success with the whole Malaysia nation backing her all the time in the future....It will only take a matter of time for Nicol to rise to the top once again like what she had done before.....Right now, Malaysia need to help her through this great ordeal, in order for her to set things right again.

Recall back in 2002 Asian Games when she lost to Rebecca Chiu for gold medal. Then starting in 2003 she is climbing up the ladder in world rankings so fast by clinching World Games, British Open, World Open and World # 1 in just 3 years sooner than expected. She is still in the learning process. Give her some time to adapt well for her status, pressure and high expectation. I am pretty sure she will bounce back strongly.
