about genetic issues in a breed that no one talks about these problems except in generalities.
AKC is going about this all wrong-I think this will lead to back stabbing between competitors and proving their isn't a problem will fall to the exhibitor. In my neck of the woods this is going to be a free for all....some people run to the AKC rep for everything....
If AKC doesn't want dogs with these issues shown then require dogs to have health clearances that prove the dog doesn't have them. Most of these problems are in our breed, been there for a long time and just saying the dogs can't be shown isn't going to make these problems disappear. A good vet can make sure these problems if corrected are undetectable. JMO....
