Too bad for LP.
People can stay away for next season. The retread MK is back. |

I haven't seen MK out scouting? Must be looking at HL Green so he can improve his team.
Any chance he gets a brain and takes this team to HL Red next year? |

Just read this. What happened to DM? Staying with the Hornets? |

DM is not staying with the Hornets. Where is road show going now, if not LP? |

DM and the road show must have found another desperate organization to go to, if they are not going to LP.

They went to the Hornets did'nt they?
CV is the eqivelent to the Hornets in the MHL. |

I cannot believe they are that stupid. |

If this is true, then the Hornets will seem like a pardise. Good luck. I still cannot believe they would do this if it is true. |

Think about it...
LP has, maybe, 3 decent A players.
CV has 1, maybe 2 decent A players.
There will need to be a clean sweep out of players in either scenario so there is no difference from a "player" perspective(goalie aside!).
At LP you have additional coaching / player baggage.
At CV you have a clean slate as no current CV coaches would be included.
While neither is easy and assuming you clean house, CV appears to be the better option from which to build.
Maybe we're not giving DM enough credit (no pun intended). |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 11:57 AM |
MK is taking all of the AP team over to LP and leaving the AP coaching staff behind. |

do they use a power point presentation? lol |

I think DM and crew have lost it, if this is true. What next when next year CV is in last place. |

Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:05 PM |
If DM is coming back to MHL and bringing 7 or 8 Hornets, he is an instant contender where ever he lands, so he is in the driver seat. For all the Hornet's lack of success, there was no coach bashing by parents, so he is doing something right. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:09 PM |
Hopefully DM keeps these good parents, otherwise he is in for some wackos in A. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:07 PM |
I know everyone likes to generate a laugh so I get the PP comment.
But with all due respect, DM is a class act.
He is great with the kids.
He spends time on fundamentals.
He doesn't have a kid on the team...he coaches out of sheer joy of the game.
He rolls the lines.
He wants to win, but not at any cost.
Given all the heat and discussion about what is wrong with MHL A, parents and frankly, other organizations, should be thrilled if he actually comes back.
We will all benefit.
So, let's keep the "slams" to a minimum so we don't scare him away!
(Maybe I should be his agent before the LP goalie guy grabs him(?)) |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:10 PM |
The instant contender bit is far fetched.....who is he going to get to play...almost all of the better players in the league are locked up....if your trying to fill up your team now all you will get it the bottom 6 from other teams where they have been cut. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:19 PM |
I suppose there must be a plan for filling out the CV roster....could be some challenges.
The guy is well liked and there seems to be a lot of disgruntled parents out there both at A and AA.
It will be interesting to see who gives "lip service" to wanting a strong teacher / kid friendly coach and those who decide they're more interested in seeing Johnny in a good environment than maintaining their "spot" on an established team.
Interesting litmus test for those who like to complain on this site.

DM nice guy yes.
Coaching skills? People are dreaming if you think he is going to make a contender out of one of these bottom teams.

why would LP pick MK over DM, considering the tangible assets both could offer the assoc? I take a handful of Hornets over the whole AP team in a heartbeat! |

No AP kids come with MK. They are stay to play with Kane in AP next year. OH but you do get MK kid. LOL
Politics? Not sure MK was let go by LP to years ago not sure why he is coming back.
I would give DM the job in PC over NHC Man. |
|

If it is true...and MK is going to LP......then there will for sure be a brawl on the AP bench during the Clancy.
This team is gonna be split 6 ways from Sunday. |

Sounds like we have just saved the CV pres the difficulty of selecting a new coach! Who wants to call him and let him know we've picked DM? |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:23 PM |
If DM is going to CV, I do not understand the logic with this
one. Not a smart move on his part. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:28 PM |
Have you read some of the "proposed rationale" in previous posts?
Assuming you clean house:
How is the CV situation any different than LP? LP has no players either!
Why would you get hooked up with MK when you have your own coaching staff?
Wouldn't CV bend over backwards to get a quality guy like DM?
I think he is a dumb as a fox. |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:25 PM |
There was no AP-LP brawl at the Clancy although both teams got a couple of penalties.
I am surprised that MK is going to LP, given the history. Just because MK is going to LP, does that mean DM is not going?
Can't see that many AP players following MK to LP, but you never know.

ER aside (bring on the All Ontario's), ME and CO top players testing AA waters next season, maybe AP gets a little diluted with MK move, LP parents disgruntled, may or may not stay with MK. Add in AA players moving down. Could be some shifts in power next season.
Looks like coach who recruits the best could do well! |
|
Anonymous (no login) | Re: LP97A....the new generationNo score for this post | February 27 2007, 12:37 PM |
Me and CO players will test AA waters with, Hornets , Jets , Canucks or Ice Dogs. Once in the water they will find out it is full of sharks as we get HL kids playing on AA teams again in Atom. LOL |

Why are AP and LP in the Clancy REP division.
Should they not be in the Select Category or have the people that run this tournament not seen these teams play before? |
|

Wow I didn't realize they could find enough crappy teams to allow AP and LP to get into the finals of something.
These teams could not win the HL Red playoffs. LOL |

Well ME Dad, AP had enough offense to kick ME's butt the last two times they played.
AP played Brampton Battalion in an exhibition on the weekend and beat then 7 to 5... plenty of offense.
And the Battalion have beaten CO, but of course, so has AP.

Any team AP is scoring 7 goals on is not an A team. You don't have to try and prove that AP has offense by trotting out scores against some crappy teams. We have seen you play. Your score power is pitiful.
Unless of course you got new players for the clancy? LOL |
|

AP is going to win the Clancy, and then next year with the new recruits, are going to win the MHL.
Then you will see all the firepower you want.

AP picking up "AAA" and "AA" kids. Now with MK at LP. LP goalie going to AP as well. All are going to want to play for AP, since they are "BLUE", "WHITE" and the win is guaranted. |

Don't worry AP is shaping up very, very nicely for next year. Team is going to be rock solid. Still looking for a couple of blue chip prospects at tryouts.
But please, Mr ME, we don't want or need your ankle burner.

Has anyone been able to confirm that DM is really going to CV?
It seems to add up.
I was at Hershey last night and saw a good portion on the Hornet's game...nobody will mistake them for Westmall or the Braves but the pace and quality of that game put our MHL A loop to shame.
I saw 1 Hornet's game earlier in the year....that doesn't look like the same team. DM must be doing something right.
The Erindale coach was also there. Thought that was interesting.
I've never met the man. Is DM the really the "great guy" that everyone describes on here? I tried to do a search....even with the Hornet's lousy record, I couldn't find anyone slamming him.
Too good to be true? |

Not too good to be true. Excellent teacher and an excellent guy. Erindale coach looked very nervous. And it is CV. Confirmed. |
