Brampton 97AAA Atom

I don't get this team. AC has a son on team he clearly wants to showcase to the detriment of the team. Kid is talented but needs work on his game play. Coach has a son on team who is probably not AAA calibre. One line gets most of the play, while the rest of the team sits on the bench. What do most of you parents get by having your kid on this team --enjoyment of seeing "AAA" on their jackets?

THERE IS AN OLD SAYING WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.

BRAMPTON WILL LOSE QUITE A FEW PLAYERS BY THE TIME THEY GET TO PEEWEE.
HOW MANY CAPTAINS & ASSISTANT CAPTAINS CAN YOU HAVE ON A TEAM? IS THIS THE WAY YOU GET THE PARENTS TO STAY IN BRAMPTON? OFFER A LETTER, TONS OF ICE AND MAKE A SELECT FEW LOOK GOOD.

That's been my concern with this team all along. Why do the coaches not feel an obligation to develop all of their players? They are crushing the love of hockey for several players.

Let the witch hunt begin.

Team plays to win and has for years. Period. If you don't like it then LEAVE. Most likely just a pot stirrer as nothing has changed in years here.

you're kid's interests must be looked after. it becomes a vicious circle for the kids on the team. they don't get ice time, so they don't develop. they don't play as well as the kids with all the ice time, so they continue to sit. if you think this is ok, you're screwed up.

Which AC are you referring to on first posting.

FYI - Brampton will only lose 2 or 3 players at most for next year. I agree with earlier post, the negative comments are to stir the pot because either other teams want Brampton's players or they want to join Brampton.

Bottom line First place with a 17-3 record...

I agree this team isn't an elite team. Their standing in the SCTA reflects the fact there are 2-3 good teams in their loop and 5 weak teams. If you've seen them in tournaments with some truly elite teams, you will see the difference. While this team can win smaller regional tournaments, they have never won a major one.

The problem sometimes is that the kid is happy winning, but the parents will not tolerate the favoritism. It is difficult to pull the kid out in this case. Another issue is that its not good for all conerned if you go to a new team every year.

Brampton dirty - you gotta be kidding. If Brampton ever decided to play with some grit they would be unbeatable. They are one of the least penalized teams. In fact one of the Hamilton kids got kicked out for kicking a Brampton player while he was on the ice.

I'll correct you on that..as I was standing In clear view of this Incident.
The play was whistled down, the referee who blew it dead is about 260lbs, he was outside the blueline coming in.
The player from Hamilton in trying to get out of the crease area, moved his leg back and forth as he was tangled up with a Brampton Player.
From afar the ref saw a Kicking Motion....when in fact it was not.
Oh well...kid got 2 games when really he should have just been told to be more careful.

I have nothing to do with either Team...So my comments are unbiased.

Now on the Other hand....didn't Pool's kid get suspended for Kicking a Hamilton Kid last year? 3 games Right?

4 the record kids have 55 mins of ice twice a week to develop skills they will use in 10 mins of game time if they want more game time mins then my suggestion is work harder in practice thats where the developing is not in game time so 4 all the selfish parents that have stop watches in their pocket on all hockey teams they should consider just letting the kids develop stop feeding them controversy let them play as a team have fun and as parents if ur not happy cause ur boy or girl misd a shift or two or three SUCK IT UP!!!!!!! KIDS FEED OFF THEIR PARENTS REMEMBER THAT IF UR KID IS NOT HAVING FUN AND OR NOT DEVELOPING THEN MOVE TO ANOTHER TEAM BUT LOOK AT THIS WEB SITE THEIR IS A THOUSAND THREADS EVERY WEEK BOUT HUNDREDS OF TEAMS AND COACHES AND MOST OF THE TIME ITS THE SAME COMPLAINT MAYBE PARENTS NEED TO REMEMBER ITS JUST A GAME

You are only partially correct. No slide happening, but yes top players are being over-worked. Seems like team plays better when the lines are rolled. Not sure if coaching staff fully realizes this fact. Either way this team needs to start beating strong teams outside of their loop.
